Investment Property Location

I am thinking of buying an investment brownstone in Bedford-Stuyvesant. What do you Brownstoners think of the neighborhood– are young people moving into the area, are rents going up? I read the NYTimes article this weekend about hip, hot Gowanus…maybe I should buy there? I’d appreciate your thoughts.

Yes, it’s a very big area, some places attractive from the standpoints that you mention and some not.  Rents are definitely rising around Stuyvesant Heights and amenities are growing fast.  it’s also the most convenient area to the subway, the A train.

What you want to spend should dictate where you buy.

Bed Stuy is a large neighborhood with certain areas being better than others. Stuy Hts probably being the most desirable. Dibs?
