Bed-Stuy Looking for a new home to live

Any input will be greatly appreciated.   I am renting an apartment on Franklyn and Gates but I???m kind of reluctant to move from Forest Hills to this neighborhood. I???ve heard that this area is not safe and still under transition. I have 2 children (3 and 7 y.o.) What is your opinion on this neighborhood?     THANKS A BUNCH!

Sorry. I live in far East Bed Stuy. Used to live in Jackson Heights. Ridgewood near the L train is also pretty nice.

Maybe try Stuy Heights? The apartments are very nice there and not too expensive. Many nice neighbors, quiet, on the A train. Good luck. (I live in

Bed Stuy is really huge and you have to investigate each area to see if you feel comfortable.

I don’t understand. You’ve already rented the apartment without knowing about it? Don’t you have to look into schools and stuff like that? I don’t know about Franklin and Gates in particular, but Bed Stuy is huge and I know that I see lots of families around the south side….Bedford Corners to Stuyvesant Heights.
