Recommendations for Heat/Boiler/Radiator Work

Hi All, All of a sudden 2 of my 4 radiators on one floor (closed circuit/zone) have stopped working. I’ve bled them – very little air comes out and no water comes out (actually, for the 2 that are still getting hot, no water comes out of them either when they’re bled). I have no intentions of messing with my gas boiler myself so I need to have somebody come in to figure out what’s going on. Any recommendations? Thanks!

you probably need to replace your expansion tank..

Thanks. I actually just called somebody this afternoon to come look at the boiler tomorrow. My 3rd radiator went out this morning so I had to schedule something. Down to 1/4 and these are bedrooms that are going cold. As for pressure, the pressure gauge reads about 22-23 on this boiler. This is a third floor that I’m having issues with. I don’t know what the pressure was before the radiators started going out. Also, after the first radiator went out, I bled all 4 of them. Even while 3 of them were still hot, I didn’t get any water out of them. Got a tiny bit of air, but not a drop of water out of any of them. Is that okay?

For what it’s worth, I think you’d do well contacting MP. He shares an immense amount of knowledge on this site and as he said, it’s what he does. I believe he avoids self promotion, but his company is Gateway Plumbing.

My guy does boilers and he is very good at it. the last boiler he repair for one of my customers in Brooklyn Heights. its working great. My customer is very Happy. his name is Gerald Cumberbatch 1 347 783 4167.

You need more water pressure at the boiler to lift the water into those radiators and push the air out. Just saying. This is what I do. JC
