Renting out Home for Film/TV Use

Hello–Does anyone know about renting out your home for use in film and tv shows? I noticed that Corcoran has a listing for this.  I wonder how much traction it gets.  If I was interested in pitching my home, would a realtor be the best route to take?  If not, how could I get word out?  What issues might I want to consider?  Thanks in advance for any advice.

Been there/done that. Be very careful! Film/TV crews are notoriously disrespectful of your living space.  They are not there as your houseguests; they are there to get a job done — with tons of people and big, heavy equipment, banging, dragging, dropping, spilling, tearing, tugging, etc. all over your house.  In addition to the money they bring, they will also bring garbage, noise, chaos and disorder, privacy invasions and even arrogance.  Yes, they pay.  But you, the homeowner, will pay as well!  While we wouldn’t totally rule out doing it again, we would be a whole lot more careful on how we close the deal.  All that glitters just ain’t gold!  You can contact me offline at brooklynista at yahoo dot com if you want to know more of the details of our experience.

In addition to the damage that’s likely to occur to your home, please consider the possible impact to your neighbors. Your entire block will be disrupted on the days filming takes place. OTOH, if you don’t care about your neighbors, renting your house out can be quite lucrative.
