Neighborhoods with ample street parking

What are some good gentrified areas close to Manhattan in Brooklyn where street parking is not a big issue? For example, anecdotally, I heard that street parking is much more plentiful in Williamsburg than in Park Slope.

I have a friend on the border of park slope/greenwood near the prospect expressway. he never seems to have trouble with parking around there.

Street parking is pretty good in PLG–especially in Lefferts Manor which has single-family zoning.

On a general basis they are all difficult and differ to degree. It seems like a waste of time to have to constantly stratigize finding free on the street parking. Think of cars and free parking  spots in the vein of the game musical chairs. Mostly, If you not around during the daytime to move your car to a legal spot, you wind up doing what you have been doing. I guess if you get tired of doing that you fork over the money for a gargage space. There are probably some places where there it’s easier to find parking. But, it wouldn’t last long if those in the know would publicize it.

Here’s my situation, and I believe it’s a common one. I use public transportation to commute to work and only use the car on the weekends. There is obviously alternate street parking during the day, when I’m not around to move the car. Where I live right now, I can move my car the night before there is cleaning on the street to the other side. It does sometimes take up to half an hour to find a spot, which may be 4 blocks away from my building, but it’s doable. From what I heard in some places like Park Slope, cars are literally double parked when the cleaning truck comes around (which I honestly don’t understand since it’s illegal). In this situation you have to be present to “jockey” your car around during cleaning hours, or hire someone to do it for you. So my question is in which neighborhoods is not so bad Tha I could continue doing my routine of moving the car the night before cleaning (or in the morning), and not have to hire a person to move the car for me during actual cleaning hours? For example, finding parking in Williamsburg seems a heck of a lot easier than in Brooklyn Hights or Park Slope. What about Carroll Gardens, Gowanus, Prospect Heights, South Slope, etc? Are there any specific areas in the neighborhoods which are better for parking?

It’s hard for me to interpret all the qualifiers you list (“good” “gentrified” “close to Manhattan” “big issue”), but Windsor Terrace has very easy street parking–the product of being bordered by a cemetery and a park, and having low-density housing throughout.

I bet Midwooder would pay monthly for the answer. However, the actual answer about finding regular  on the street parking in a gentrified area in Brooklyn lies somewhere between never and hardly ever. It takes work and being around to jockey your car whenever there is an alternate side of the change. You have to quick and agressive to be successful.
