crowdsourcing solution to motorcycle sociopath in stuyvesant heights

Nearly every night, some dude tears around Stuyvesant Heights on an outrageously loud motorcycle–anywhere between 9 pm and 2 am.  I’ve looked into this and it is illegal to make this kind of racket, but the cops won’t enforce the law because they are afraid someone will die in a car chase.

Is anyone else as smoked about this baby-waking noise pollution as I am?  There must be something we can do, collectively, to get this guy to stop.

See, this is where loud window unit air conditioners come in handy. Close the windows, turn on the a/c. Even if it’s only on fan. The white noise will drown out the street noise. Or move to a suburban alternative like Park Slope. Neighbors there would have your back on this issue. We’re a little more “live and let live” in the Stuy.

I am on Jefferson between Stuyvesant and Lewis and have noticed this quite a bit. The trend these days seems to be street legal Motorcross bikes. They have 4 stroke engines that can be very loud and this local variety probably has the muffler removed for extra special noise. It seems there is a pack that runs around the neighborhood setting off car alarms as they go by.
 As a motorcyclist myself,I find these to be very loud and over the limit. The sound is not reasonable. Gotta wonder about my neighbors who say they don’t hear it. I can hear them coming for blocks. I’m sure they have these in the suburbs,then again there people do not live on top of each other just feet from the street. Lighten up on your neighbors,I think everybody could live with quieter motorcycles.

I haven’t noticed anything that loud more than once.  We have motorcycles in Bucks County, PA as well.

Camp out at the stoplight and get his plate number.
Or move back to the suburbs with your baby. (but they have loud motorcycles there too…..)
