Using european cooktop and oven

Has anyone had success using a gas cooktop and electric oven from Europe in the US? Specifically are there gas/electrical conversion needs and what are they?

Your appliances were surely meant for the US. There’s probably no easy way to convert, as the power needs of the oven would require a huge transformer (if you can find one) and the electronics probably would not work as the Euro frequency is 50hz.

I used Miele gas combi hobs and a Miele electric oven under the counter. No problem. Also, in another project a Bosch gas cooktop and a Bosch electric wall oven. Again, no issues.

Many years ago I instakked a beautiful Italian AndiGas cooktop (with electric igniters) with removable glass covers.  I suspect it was made for the US market though because bobjohn is right about the phase issue and voltage.

Would you concider IKEA an European brand? 🙂 If yes- i have gas one and it fit right in. Electric oven for sure will not work since they use 220v single phase or 380v three phases voltage. Gas oven might work, but if it need electricity for lighters, etc – it will not work for the same reason as above. BTW american 220v is not the same as Europen 220v because US is two phase and eropean is one phase.
