rust in my hot water?
I have two 50 gallon generic gas heaters, age unknown, for some reason plumbed in series (not the usual parallel). No leaks, still functioning normally. So come today, the first time in two years that the house has plenty of people drawing on the hot water, a late morning bath on the top floor ended up filled with quite rusty water. As of this evening, checking the hot water lines on other floors show traces of the rusty hot, but now seem to run clear. Cold water lines showed no such sign. Anyone with wisdom or experience care to guess at what may be happening here?

your hot water heaters are loaded with sediment…it was sucked into the linebecause of high demand.Turn off the gas and flush them out.
