Looking for a Steam Heating Guru

Hi there, We have a 4 family building and have been struggling with an unbalanced steam boiler and heating system. I’ve debated trying a few things on my own to even-out the heat, but I’m thinking that could be a long slow process. We are looking for someone who is transcended the “I can get the boiler to work” (as it works), and is a steam expert to make it work well. Ideally we’d love for our tenants to not feel like they are in the north pole or in the tropics. If you are a steam heating guru or you know of someone please let us know! Thanks!

I’m also the owner of a multi-fam and tried for years to balance a steam system myself, and with the help of local plumbers, etc. I read Dan Holohan’s ‘We Got Steam Heat!’ two years ago and realized that the guys I’d been calling knew very little about steam and in a few cases I got demonstrably wrong advice. If you are at all mechanically inclined I’d really suggest the book — then at the least you’ll know when you’ve got someone who doesn’t know what the heck they’re talking about. That said, I highly recommend Joe at Thatcher 732-494-4357, they are in NJ but will come out to Brooklyn.
