How much does it cost to replace ConEd gas meters?

the new ones should thread right into the exsisting header a plumber is tooled up to do it and check for leaks are your meters locked up from the reno? if they are con ed will come out with new meter when they unlock them…if you did any repiping of the interior gas lines a pressure test is required by plumbers with paper work befre coned reopens them…

We’ve finished gut renovating our house and as part of the plumbing inspection, the city inspector wants us to upgrade the gas meters. Apparently the meters are free from ConEd, but we need someone to install them. We need 3 of them replaced. If you’ve done this before, please let me know roughly how much this will cost. If the meter bars are there, Con Ed will set them for free! If no meter bars you gotta hire a plumber. Im not sure if you can fast track this by LAA but if you can its a quick thing.

You might have to pay a deposit to Con Edison for the first year of use. I would go down to the Con Edison office and work with Customer Service to expedite
