homeowner warranty?

Do you gals/guys have any suggestions for a good homeowner warranty company? Something that covers basic systems (AC, heating etc). I am looking online and ALL the companies I have seen so far seem to have horrible reviews.

i agree that most of them are scams. i was wondering if any of you gals/guys has found one that is not a scam. overall i also understand what the insurance business is all about (the consumer on average loses). but i still have car insurance 🙂

at best the scope of these things are limited, at worst they’re basically scams.  at least when you’re talking about 100+ year homes, for new builds (which were the bulk of these things since the 70’s) i couldn’t comment.  but generally to say false confidence is an understatement for “brooklyn brownstones”.

I have to say that I think these products are inherently inefficient for the purchaser. I’d be interested to see if you get any good experiences but I think it’s overall a product designed to provide false reassurance.
