Gas Meter Relocation

How much does it cost to get a remote gas meter installed? I am in Brooklyn using National Grid

I’m looking for recommendations for a plumber to pull permits and move my gas meter to the outside of the house. It needs to be moved literally to the other side of the wall. Thanks.

We had a remote read gas meter installed. No need for unsightly meter on the outside. I think the gas company did it themselves.

I have that installed but the gas regulator is in the path of the stairs. I’m in the process of redoing my basement and that needs to be moved. Also, ConEd never remotely reads the gas meter even though I call them every month and tell them I have one installed. They installed it too.

I’ve had a remote read gas meter for over 25 years (originally installed by Brooklyn Union Gas). I’ve never had a problem with readings.

Arch – You refer to ConEd but most gas in Bklyn is supplied by Nat’l Grid. Maybe you should phone them about your readings.
