French Drain--Has anyone had one installed?

Even before the hurricane, I was looking into installing a french drain for my cellar.  It’s quite expensive.  Just wondering if anyone has had one put in, what the results were, and if you have any recommendations on people who can do it.  Thanks!

To clarify if you are talking about a perimeter drain, perforated pipe, surrounded by gravel pitched to an ejector pump, If you wan’t to solve basement water issues this is the only way to go. This is what I have on my house, (bone dry last two episodes). Mostly hand labor digging and hauling, however it is probably a good idea to have someone directing who knows what they’re doing.

I’ve had one for about 15 years & it’s worked wonderfully well.  Mine was done by casual labor overseen by my boyfriend.  They aren’t terribly complicated, just work-intensive.  You could try VinRoy – 646 554 4513
