Boiler violation for removed boiler

I have 3 boiler violations of $1000 each for a boiler that was removed years ago. “VIOLATION ISSUED FOR FAILURE TO FILE ANNUAL BOILER INSPECTION REPORT” It seems the form was not filed when the boiler was removed in 2013, and I have done so now. Is there a way to fight these fines? The notice for 2012 came in 2014\. So there was no way to avoid the penalty for 2013\.

You need to get a plumber to file a notice of boiler removal (OP49)..until that is in the DOB system you are liable for ayearly $1000 fine regardless of the boiler actually existing

Maybe you should call Jack Jaffa & Associates. I use them for violations. It is $200 per violation, they go to the ECB on your behalf, so it saves you the time and aggravation. Sometimes they go more than one time and do not charged extra.

If the removal of the boiler was filed for and signed off, you can fight it. Collect all your paperwork from when it was filed and signed etc and go to speak to the head guy in the boiler division in Manhattan. If you got rid of the boiler, what do you have now? The boiler inspection requirement is based on how many apartments there are in the building.

No way to fight those. I got them 2 years after the fact as well. Went down to the office to pay in person (money order only from what I remembered). Very long wait time
