Are you a Certificate of Fitness holder?

Trying to figure out what must be done for our existing sprinkler system.  I think I need to have an annual inspection done by a master suppression specialist (plumber) but also monthly inspections that I can do myself, if I become certified.  Has anyone gone down to Metrotech to take the test and is it worthwhile?  Where do you get the forms that you are supposed to fill out after the visual inspection and where do you post it? Any light you can shed on the process is appreciated.

How often do you need to submit results of a flow test to FDNY? I couldn’t find a clear answer on their website, and other sites said either annually or every 5 yrs. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Take a look at the study materials on the FDNY website. All of the answers to the CoF are in there. This also covers the paperwork. It is absolutely painless.

takes half a day to get the certificate this is a lot better than paying and waiting for someone to come around and walk the halls as to forms, there is a checklist and no posting reqs but you need to keep on premises
