Humidifier

What is the best humidifier out there? I would need one for my 4 units building that has a large escavated basement. Something not too expensive that is solid (on wheels) and can cover a basement that 19 w by 80 deep.  Any input is welcome!!

It depends on how handy you are.  I installed one myself.  It was not difficult. They help a lot, but we still end up running a room humidifier in our bedroom.  However, that is due in part to the fact that we keep the house very cold at night (so not much air going through the ducts) and that we are very sensitive to dry air.

Tanner,   There are a couple of basic and economical systems you can look at. If you are looking for a Whole House system, check either the Aprilaire 800 or the Honeywell TrueSteam. Both are functional. If you want top of the line check out the Nortec RH2\. We have experience installing all of these. I would suspect that any HVAC guy could do it.  I used All HVAC to service my furnace and they are good.

These have been required by code for many years in Chicago on any new systems.  They do work quite well and have become much more efficient and far less troublesome over the years.
