Looking for a recommendation for a new fence
Thanks everyone. I ended up finding an old fence at NY old iron salvage (Roy was great) and then had Piscopo Ironworks install. They did a great job. Fence looks like it was made for the house.

I have a ca 1865 Queen Anne brick house and am looking to replace the front fence and gate in its entirety. I’d like to use a salvaged/vintage wrought iron fence. Are there iron workers who can source this and install it to suit my conditions? I’ve looked into Olde Good Things and Salvage NY, but I don’t think I trust myself enough to get something that will work.

Check out this site for a great deal of prefab railing and fences. http://www.kingmetals.com/DesignConcepts/index.html -Adam Dahill

It will likely be tough to find the full width of old fencing you’ll need. Vinnie’s Italian Iron Art Works on Bergen St in Cobble Hill can manufacture new railings and a gate using old molds.

Typically, these fences were ordered from catalogues. I’ve seen gogeous fencing in antique stores in western PA. So they could be anywhere, and a lot cheaper than Vinnies. Stair rails are almost never available 2nd hand, because the geometry of every stair is different. Usually the newels and front fencing is re-cycled, the stairs are new, built to look right.
