waterproofing brick and stone
Hi, Our house is next to an uneven empty lot. The lot collects huge puddles of water. Because of this the entire west wall of our house has a lot of interior moisture damage (damage is visible on ground floor and cellar walls). We WERE planning on waterproofing the exterior of the wall, but now the owner of the lot says that he will be building a new structure w/in the year. So, hopefully, in the future, a new structure on the lot will fix our problem – but we still have the moisture problem now… Can anyone recommend a temporary fix? Our contractor says he can coat the interior stone & brick to keep the moisture out. Is this a good idea? I have heard many bad things about coating old brick. What product is good for coating interior stone & brick? Thanks
