Thanks bedstuytownhouse. you’re the only poster to actually address this issue thoroughly. I will try him as well and post pics. FYI folks, we used Millad to coat the facade. He used thorocoat(sp). Why paint you ask? Well the facade had previously been painted (yellow which my wife detested) the physical structure did not need to be repaired. pic attached

Ally, The door we had made was an iron gate with a decorative motif backed by a piece of plexiglass. His name is Riley and he does not have a website and his workshop was a bit strange but once we saw the samples of his work, we decided to proceed and are glad we did. Nalusurf, We paid $6200 and it was a complete resurfacing of the exterior, including both sides, as well as rebuilding the support masonry and interior. He did a beautiful job and we could not be more thrilled. I should, however, mention that we had a VERY old metal/iron door underneath the stoop that was permanently dislodged from the process of breaking down the old surface but that lead us to an amazing iron person we found by pure luck and he made us a beautiful new door for approximately $1000\. Replacing the door was on our to-do list but we obviously had to prioritize that for security reasons. My point is that, if you also have a door that is already at the end of it’s life, you should already include another $1000 on top of $6200 for replacement as the process is not a gentle one.
