Need to replace a deadbolt on our apartment entry door, and maybe the knob and lock below? Any reliable recommendations on this?

I tried replacing the lock in the metal door and it was a bit of a disaster. Amazing how many little pieces are in there… Will check out 5th Ave. I’m in Boerum Hill btw. Missing Tony’s hardware who would usually send a guy for something like this. Would the locksmith guy on Court St who is there sometimes do this?

I’ve both installed locks myself (on wooden doors) and had 5th Avenue Key Shop (their actual name) do it (on my iron gate). They’re very good, if you don’t want to DIY.

GT – I’m mainly d-i-y but installing locks can be very difficult. Old wood presents problems &, more likely for OP, metal can be truly hard to work with.
