How much to wire and install a lamp post in the front yard
Our brownstone currently doesn’t have a lamp post in the front. Does anyone know how much it would cost to install one? There currently isn’t any wiring for it so I think the ground needs to be dug up to lay conduit and wiring.

They have to dig up the the ground to put in the lamp post, but they can run the wire from there to your hatch and then into your cellar to the electric panel without digging up the ground. WCK did ours as part of a whole-house re-do, and they made a small hole and patch next to our existing lamp post. Usually adding a point (without a switch — ours goes on automatically) is about $200 or $300 or so. Maybe this is more because it is outside and slightly farther from the connection, but maybe not.
