Owners use in rent stabilized building-- lawyer recommendations?

  I was looking to see if anyone had any recommendations to share for a laywer who has an expertise in the area of owner use / occupancy cases in a rent stabilized building?   We need someone who has not only done this before, but is a real specialist in this area.  We understand the money, time and aggravation involved already– just need someone to guide us who knows all the little rules and procedures that we do not.   Thanks for any recommendations.

Yes, I agree with you– I am not looking to cheap out on getting a weak lawyer.  I want someone who knows this type of case stuff backwards and forwards.

I did this many years ago for myself and was a key witness for a tenant who was seeking to renew, also many years ago. I didn’t try to save a penny on the lawyers. They have now scattered to different firms – Rosenber and Estis  or Belkin Burden. Every single move you do needs to be done right and all of your moving parts need to work together. If this happens, your ship sails. If it doesn’t , you are stuck in the water with a leaky boat and hostile tenants coming aboard with court backing.
