OASIS Building Size numbers wrong - Need some advice

Hi, I looked up our building on OASIS and our building size number is completely wrong. It has the following numbers: Lot Area:1,917 sq ft (19′ x 100.92′) # of Buildings:1Year built:1910 # of floors:4Building Area:**12,168 sq ft** Our neighbor who lives in an identical brownstone (same size, depth, garden size etc.) has the following: Lot Area:1,917 sq ft (19′ x 100.92′) # of Buildings:1Year built:1910 (Year built is an estimate) # of floors:4**Building Area: 3,952 sq ft** What I am worried about is the tax abatement on the building runs out next year and will this huge mistake in the building area size effect what we will be taxed? Also, is there any way we can find out roughly what we might be taxed?

The links you posted aren’t coming through with the actual address so I can’t see the records.  The DOF link would be listed as :NYC Dept. of Finance Assessment Roll   That third link you posted goes to the DOF, so maybe that’s it.  If that’s where it says 4,065, you’re probably fine.  You should probably verify this with a real estate attorney.

OK, Jim, I looked up our place on this site: https://a836-propertyportal.nyc.gov/ It has the building area at 4,065 sq. ft. Does that mean we are OK then as far as them having the correct info for property tax?

Oasis pulls information from a few databases, not the other way around, so there’s nothing to worry about in terms of what it says there.  However, it may mean that the database it pulls from is supplying the same erroneous information to other agencies.  You can check the DOF records from the Oasis link and see what is shown at the DOF records, and contact them if there are errors.  I had to do that once and it was actually quite easy.
