I don’t think Curiositykilledthecat was rude–he/she is entitle to his/her opinion or preference–but I also don’t see anything wrong with the original post.  It doesn’t seem like Brownstoner is in real danger of becoming a parenting site and discussions that are uninteresting are easily skipped.  In fact, two people seem to have helpful leads for the OP.

Oh, dear, was that a rude comment?  Because I tried really hard to just make my point and move on.  Yes, the subtitle is “brooklyn inside and out.”  But even the most brief review of the posts, advertisers, and photographs makes it clear that this site’s focus is real estate. People with kids surely post here, but they tend to post about real estate, just like the people without kids. My observation was to encourage OP to not post non-real-estate questions.  As I would have if the post had been about, I dunno, where to buy a puppy or who to vote for in the next election. See stfu, parents blog for examples of why people like me get cranky.

i love how the internet makes it easy for folks to make rude comments to others.  i thought the subtitle of this site said “brooklyn inside and out”  guess that excludes any discussion for folks with kids.  guess us parents will revolt and try to take the site over next. :/
