Legal Assistance

I ‘m hoping that someone could suggest some legal counsel for the problems I am having with the developers who have constructed condos next to my house in Brooklyn. During construction, which has taken around 10 years, there have been repeated damages caused to my house— which they have repeatedly promised to rectify. We have been in discussion about these damages for the past four years and together we had a proposed list of repairs a few months ago, which they okayed and urged us to send it back to them.  The list includes roof repairs, window damage, wall damage, etc.. I took the list and firmed it up, adding nothing but dates and specifications (all of these had been talked through but needed to be included on paper). I emailed the contractor and tried to deliver two signed copies of the document well over a month ago, just as we were about to sign off in this way, and he”disappeared.” I have tried to call him and he deferred saying someone else would be taking over the discussion about repairs. Since then, silence. I have heard nothing from them. But they are advertising their condos—without a C of O. which in order to get they will need to make adjustments to my building. What is the next course of action? I fear they are just going to ignore my repairs unless I take legal measures, and they will try to force me to build up my own chimney. Can anyone recommend a lawyer in Brooklyn who has expertise in these issues?

Have you threatened them with calling the DOB? If they are trying to get there C of O the last thing they want is the DOB on their backs.
