ECB Attorney

I have a bunch of older ECB fines that were improperly served (sent to the wrong address) and were never paid and went into default, tripling the fines. I sent ECB a letter looking for a hearing and explaining this with proof from a copy of a summons showing an improper mailing address. They completely ignored the explanation and replied with a form letter basicaly stating, hearing denied, tough sh__, pay up! Similar to landlord/tenant court, I assume there are some attorneys that spend their whole day at ECB? The fines with default penalties add up to over $1,500 so it’s probably worth it to get a pro involved since ECB is just giving me the finger.  If anyone has some contact info for these attorneys, please be good enough to post. “I sent ECB a letter looking for a hearing and explaining this with proof from a copy of a summons showing an improper mailing address.”  ECB has a form that they use specifically to request hearings.  If hearings are requested any other way, the request will be denied.

An Attorney is not going to be able to help you.  Contact the Department of Finance.  While your going through 50 people to speak to one, request a new hearing date through ECB.  If you requested a hearing any other way, your request would’ve gotten denied.  The reason why you want to request a new hearing is to lower the penalty that is currently due (which includes late fee plus interest).  While you are waiting for ECB to process your request very slowly.  Speak to someone at the Department of Finance about paying off the penalties due.  I have been told by the DOF that, as of July 1st, they stop taking requests for resolution amounts (which is what you need).  Hope I helped.  An Attorney would have to do some thing with the Standard & Appeals court, which means $$$$.
