Brooklyn Landlord/Tenant Lawyer Still Needed

I posted this question a couple of weeks ago and got only one response. The responder suggested I try Marc Aronson. Well, after reading two reviews of him that were negative, I called anyway simply to get an idea of the fee involved for a simple non-payment case. I was told by a staff member to come in for a consultation. A bit annoying, but fine, he wants to meet face to face. I was then told the “consultation” would cost $100\. Wait a minute, I just want to know what this will cost, I don’t need a consultation to tell me what to do about a tenant that hasn’t paid rent in several months. I need to start a non-payment! Anyway, I’m still looking for the name of  a decent attorney that spends 100% of his/her time on landlord/tenant work in Brooklyn Housing Court only and is reasonable with his/her fees. I’d prefrer not to spend $2500 to collect $3,000 in rent. Thank you…..

I second Koeppel & Steckler. Their prices are really low. The only thing that you have to understand is that Landlord/Tenant Court is basically a grind. You serve papers and wait. I am in the office frequently as a client, and every client (including me) that comes in thinks that there must be a quicker way to do it. Koeppel personally is a very nice man, but he’s not billing by the hour, and doesn’t want to spend an hour discussing the plight of being a landlord in NYC.

I have always used Koeppel and Steckler Esq.  He is the cheapest and most experience lawyer you can possibly find.  he is located at 44 court street and his number is 718-858-5727.  My father used him for many years and I remember going with him to his office as a teenager.  Now that my father sold all his buildings and I am the landlord in the family, he is the only one I go to.  He hardly raised his prices in thet last 20 years.

Maybe go down to landlord tenant court and see what lawyer is very respected in the courtroom… They close very late so you can go down pretty much all day or early in the evenings..

Try Dawn Kelly at 917-551-1300.  She is reasonable and one of the best L/T attorneys I know.
