Stump Grinding in Front Yard?

Hi, We have a tree we’d like to remove in the front yard (for lack of a better word… the small area inside our gate around the stoop). We’d like cut down the tree and grind the stump so we can plant a new tree. We had one tree service come to do an estimate and they said they couldn’t grind the stump because their equipment doesn’t fit inside the gate. Does anyone know a company that is able to grind stumps within the front gated area? Thanks!

you can try to have them cut it as low to the ground as possible, and then in the spring drill 30 holes into the stump and apply stump remover (sole at the big box retailers) and cover it for a month and chip away at it, reapply until gone. could take a while but i should work.

I did this for a guy some years ago. he made it so worth my while that I was able to buy a chain saw and multiple chains and bring a helper and cut the stump up. it took 3 or so hard and dirty hours but we got it out and low enough that a concrete pad could be put down. maybe you can find someone who will do that. i cannot, I am too busy and I also do not have the gumption to ask for the amount of money that guy paid us. he really needed it gone.
