Substitute for Ikea Domsjo Single Bowl Farm Sink?

Has anyone had any luck finding a single bowl farm sink that fits the Akurum base cabinet? As anyone who has been searching for this sink knows, it is out of stock until February (so ikea says)!! I am nearly ready to install the cabinets and am so sick of waiting for ikea to get this sink back in stock (well over a year). If any one has had any luck in this situation please let me know what sink you chose and where you found it. Thanks!

Hi Nalusurf, Very sorry that these pict took a while. If you have been doing a renovation you can understand that sometimes you are overwhelmed with tasks. The first picture is the Randolph Morris sink from the top. Second photo shows how the cabinet was cut on top and a wooden horizontal brace was moved down and another was added. There does not seem to be a width problem. This was not done by me but by our workers but it was not a complicated hack and it didn’t take them long.

Earlier response was not me. Sink width was not a problem but we will have to cut the doors below because new sink is sitting lower. Can send a photo tonight.

Thanks greenstuy. I think you had given me this info a while back but I lost the thread. How much modification to the cabinet did you have to do since the Domjso bowl is one inch wider (25″)?

We had the same problem and used this one http://www.vintagetub.com/p/BCG2418WH-S/Randolph-Morris-24-x-18-Fireclay-Kitchen-Sink/ More expensive than the Domsjo and not exactly what we wanted because the faucet is outside of the sink bib whereas in the Domsjo it is inside. But it was best we could find in the general price range.
