Restoration Hardware Bathrooms

Does anyone have experience with Restoration Hardware bathroom hardware – faucets, shower bodies et al? I am hearing differing views. I have heard it is made my Newport Brass. Not sure if that is still true and don’t know if that is good or bad. Thoughts on quality? Thanks.

I have one bathroom with fixtures by RH and another with Newport Brass. Newport Brass is noticeably heavier/nicer. Perhaps Newport Brass makes some of RH’s lines, but not all. If you’re looking for something higher-line, I’d go with Newport Brass. I wish I’d used Newport Brass for all. (All purchased this year.)

Haven’t tried RH but if you’re looking for something historical looking, Strom/Sign of the Crab is another good one to check out. Made in America, heavy brass, good quality and (relatively) affordable.

As of the last time we used Restoration Hardware fixtures (about 6 months ago) they were still made by Newport Brass. Have not had any issues with their fixtures going back years. http://brownstoner.staging.wpengine.com/curated

I second that. I used their bathroom hardware in a recent renovation and am very satisfied with the quality (and the store’s customer service). I know that at least some of their stuff is manufactured by Newport Brass. For items that are not exclusive to Restoration Hardware, you can get a better deal by shopping around for the Newport Brass branded version. We got the wall-mounted telephone handle style tub faucet for substantially less buy purchasing it from another source. The sink faucet that we liked, though, seemed to be a Restoration Hardware exclusive.

I’ve done a few bathrooms with Restoration Hardware bathroom hardware and absolutely love their stuff. It’s not cheap but it’s a lot cheaper than the high end stuff from Waterworks and other showrooms. I’d go back if I had another one to do.
