Replace old steam coil with "kickspace" heater under cabinet?
Well, not the best choice. Nowadays there are various types of toe space heaters and the here is a review that can help you to choose the heater personally for your needs.
I Just recently installed Beacon Morris Twin-Flow heater past weekend. Installation was pretty easy. Works really well heating the kitchen that is just over 250 square feet.

I have a wall that I’d like to install some tall cabinets on, but unfortunately there is a large iron steam coil radiator heater in the way. An elegant solution would be to remove it to free up the wall space, and replace with equivalent BTU hydronic “toekick” heater(s) under the cabinets – any suggestions as to pro/con of this? Example: Myson Hydronic Toe Kick Heater – Whispa III 9000EZ http://www.houseneeds.com/heating/fan-convectors-coils-air-handlers/myson-whispa-iii-9000ez-hydronic-toe-kick-space-heater

That thing doesn’t work with steam. You’re asking for trouble with any toe-kick heater. Come up with something else. Like create a hot water loop or something.

Yup, you are right, just read more closely and realized that it’s a hot water based system, not steam. There, however, are electric equivalents that I could use, so what’s the problem with toe-kick heaters? Is there another low-profile alternative that would allow me to install floor-to-ceiling cabinets instead of having the steam coil eat up so much of the wall? Not looking to do this throughout the house, just in one spot to maximize usage of space.

No, they only work with hot water. As a note to anyone else considering them, they MUST be plumbed properly or you will lose heat further “down the line” in any radiators on the same loop after the toe kick. Not full 3/4″ piping to them but a smaller plastic branch. Oh, and I love mine. Have them in bathrooms and one in the kitchen.
