Question re Plumbing solution
My goodness. Terrible installation. That whole pipe is going to hold water constantly and it’s not going to let any solids/hair/soap/etc flush through. The basin is going to back up constantly. Get a proper plumber to reinstall that for you the right way. You’ll be much happier.

Hello,
we have just had a new sink and pedestal installed in our bathroom. Due to the pedestal shape, the contractor needed to improvise the connection between the pipe from the wall to the actual sink. My question: if you look at the picture, should we be concerned that the pipe goes down very far down before going back up to the outflow? Thank you. It does look to be a long pipe for a trap . I don’t see a problem as long as it drains fine.

Never seen anything like that. Why doesn’t it connect directly to the sink bowl above?? I guess if it drains properly then it’s OK but I don’t see how it would unless I’m missing something here.
