looking for IKEA type of priced kitchen options.

This might be a silly question to ask, but I am looking for a kitchen with very small budget. I would probably go with Ikea, however I am seeking more options. Did anyone find any similar $$$ kitchens in Brooklyn? I heard there are some Chinese stores that do a good job and not a bad quality either. Please any help would be appreciated. Looking for modern contemporary design.

I have used ikea cabinets and they are OK. The prebuilt ones from kraftmaid etc are better. Not sure about the chinese built ones.I would not use them..at least around here even the chinese run interior design showrooms and contractors i know wont use the cabinets imported from china. I agree with brokelin ” Ikea cabinet boxes may be cheap in price, but they are very well constructed and good quality” Also I saw an ad of them about a life time warranty for their boxes. I think it worth to try by a small budget

Naah buddy we cant say that how much money any kichen designer or contractor ask for pay. beacause everyone has its own style of making. We just pay for the design what we wants thatsitt.

We used barker cabinets and were super happy. The nice thing about barker is you can customize all the sizes and options, as well as materials. The quality is fantastic and I love the soft close doors. We also were going to go ikea because of budget and I’m so happy we went with barker instead.

Oh, and I renovated many houses before with IKEA and other kitchens, so I know how they compare. I would recommend them highly for kitchens on budget.

I had great experience with one of those Chinese shops called 360 Interior Concept. They are located in Red Hook/West Carrol Gardens. I worked with Ben and Andrew. Their number is (718) 852-0343\. The price point was lower than IKEA; the quality was comparable or even better but the service is 10 times better; plus, they bring the cabinets pretty much assembled. My kitchen looks gorgeous and no one can guess how much I paid for it..

Ikea cabinet boxes may be cheap in price, but they are very well constructed and good quality. Even if you did find other cabinets that cheap, they would likely not be the same high quality as the Ikea ones. I lived with them…I didn’t choose them, but bought a place with them already installed (so no bias here for what I chose)…I liked them a lotm they held up great, and I would purchase them were I renovating a place. I would get doors made elsewhere this time, as Ikea no longer carries any solid wood doors, like they did when the former owners of my places installed one of the solid wood choices they used to carry when they renovated my place. But I would certainly buy the cabinets themselves at Ikea…doubt you can do as well for that price anywhere.

I agree with using IKEA boxes (which includes everything but the doors) because for an inexpensive cabinet, you will get the most options for interior fittings. It’s nice to have pull out drawers, drawer dividers, soft close cabinets etc. I used the boxes from IKEA in my own kitchen with custom doors. I am super happy with the result, as are clients who have gone the same way. Additionally, clients who have used IKEA doors are happy with the results too. As much as I LOVE/HATE Ikea, their kitchens are hard to beat.

You can do IKEA boxes and custom doors at a reasonable price. We used Scherr’s and are very happy with them.
