Kitchen Renovation Cabinets

Hi there, We want to update our kitchen by getting new cabinets and new appliances. Possibly a new countertop – TBD. We want everything to stay in place – the stove, sink, fridge, etc – and the placement of the cabinets will most likely stay as well. We’re happy with the layout of everything but the cabinets are old and tired. We’ve got an excellent cabinet maker with a really good eye for design, but I’m wondering if we also need a designer or architect to help with this. We very much want to keep this project to 20K or less. Thanks!

20K is a good budget for kitchen remodeling. I just think you need to hire now a very professional designer or architecture to come up with an excellent design for your kitchen new layout.

we are also going to get a quote for refurbishing the cabinets. but they’re made of a pretty cheap material so i have a feeling we’ll get new ones. keeping the floors – no changes there.

Since you have a good cabinet maker might it not be more practical to refurbish the existing cabinets, perhaps with new fronts?

Should be Pretty Straight forward . Remove and store appliances safely. Remove old cabinets and discard of old cabinets . How about the floor ? Are you installing new floors ? Prep walls and Paint Install new cabinets, install existing counters

No. If they have an eye for design and the appliances aren’t moving they should be able to do the whole thing (measure the proper cabinets etc). We did ours through Home Depot and just measured everything out and ordered via their cabinet design software in store. We have done it twice through them and it was very easy.
