Ikea kitchen cabinets - sizes?

Hi, Thanks to everyone for answers to my first kitchen query (how can my kitchen be cheaper/my life improved . .. ) – now I’m trying to compare IKEA cabinets to the fantastic amazing Scherr’s cabinets – thanks you for that recommendation!! – and it seems they have totally different sizes than US standard cabinets.  Is that true, or do I have to go to the store to find their full range of sizes?  So far I can’t find anything I thought I would be getting, and I am somewhat reluctant to throw open the design again to fit a different sizing scheme . . . Thanks experts. All my gray hair is turning brown again based on the input of this forum and by the time i figure out how to purchase a kitchen I will be ready to take on the world!

I think u can find kitchen cabinet wholesale. They can supply much kitchen cabinet product to u. Maybe u can find your suitable kitchen cabinet. My friend would bought a set of kitchen cabinet in the kitchen cabinet wholesale. I think the price is cheap. So I suggest u could go there.

IKEA cabinet sizes make round number in metric system (i,e. 80cm) and then aukwardly translted into inches and fractions. If you plan to go IKEA route, you need to (a) visit their showroom and see examples and (b) start using 3D planner on their website to fit your kitchen. It required some amount of planning, but it saves a lot of money in the end. Also when in showroom they have some very helpful personal. Look for Randy he is the most helpful (and I do not think it his real name 🙂 ).

I take the guy who has helped with all my renovations with me to Ikea with the exact dimensions of the kitchen. I have done large, medium, small, and miniscule and everything always fit perfectly. I mean drawers open smoothly with 1/8″ to spare, but hey, it works. It’s often like a very complicated jigsaw puzzle–but in the end they have what you need to put it together with no gaps. You need to have an expereinced installer look at that stuff with you.
