Has anyone had experience with Latitude kitchen cabinets?

Hello, About 6 weeks ago we ordered Latitude kitchen cabinets from Lowes. We chose this particular brand for it’s very contemporary looking laminate doors, with a unique horizontal grain and frameless cabinets that we really love, and it’s unavailable from any other manufacturer. Upon delivery, due to a screwup at Lowes, only 5 of 23 cabinets were delivered, and 3 of them had bad enough flaws that my contractor insisted we not accept them (misaligned drawers, some peeling veneer, etc.) Being that we have to re-order almost the entire kitchen, even the customer service person at Lowe’s said if we have QC concerns and want to go with another cabinet line, now is the time to do it. So we had them price out the exact same layout using Kraftmaid, with solid slab doors and framed cabinets. It’s modern and clean, but not at all unique like the Latitude cabinets. It’s about $2000 more for the exact same layout. We’ve seen firsthand the quality issues with the Latitude, but from what I’ve read online, going with Kraftmaid brings no guarantees of a full shipment of perfect cabinets either. Latitude is new and I haven’t found much about them online, so I’m wondering if anyone here took the plunge and has some insight- if this was an anomaly, or more like what we can expect from the rest of our order. I know it boils down to looks over quality, but the two cabinets we still have here look so good… Thanks for any advice!

I’d like to add a completely different perspective to this. We ordered Latitude cabinets (Moda Stone) from Lowes for the exact same reason – contemporary, clean, unique and we loved the horizontal grain and color. We’ve had an EXCELLENT experience. We were shopping around already for cabinets and had a very clear layout in mind. When we saw these in Lowes, we knew these were the cabinets we wanted. We were able to get an appointment for kitchen design the same day. We finalized the design and all the details within 2 days and placed the order. All 17 cabinets arrived in perfect condition within 6 weeks as promised. We had not quality issues with doors, vineer, alignment, etc. and our contractor installed them all with no issues. Installation of all the cabinets, granite, appliances, and lighting was all done in about a week. The entire thing took just 2 months from placing the order to gutting our old kitchen to a fully functional new kitchen and we love what we have now.

Update. Thank you for all the replies. Now that they are installed, The Latitude cabinets are actually quite nice. Once Lowe’s got a contractor to to agree to install the cabinets, the “flaws” took them maybe a couple of hours to fix. Correct. if our contractor had not been so adamant about refusing to fix the flaws, we could have saved a couple of months. I won’t publicly berate him until our kitchen is finished (it still isn’t- it’s been 8 months) Also, I have nothing good to say about Lowe’s- the most dysfunctional, incompetent business I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Nobody seems to be working full time over there so there is no such thing as a point person who is responsible for your project- it’s someone different every couple of days. And any action or decision or negotiation or appointment takes 1-2 weeks, minimum. Stresses me out just writing about it. We’re in the home stretch (I think)- we may have a kitchen for Christmas. Hello to all!! I think a perfect and right contractor will help you in your case 🙂 A ryt kitchen contractor knows how to handle problemzz regarding kitchen. so why you are not getting help from kitchen remodelling contractor in ryt way..?

No still I don’t use such kinds of Kitchen cabinets. But I heard that it?s have good materials with good looking. However I have used Fabuwood Cabinets in my kitchen that was ordered from our local online store as Builderoutletusa. You can use that cabinet.

Have no idea about Latitude kitchen cabinets. Ikea has really got great kitchen cabinets with good quality and nice material used. They provide great service and are always available if you have got any issue.

Well-built cabinets have solid wood drawers with dovetail joinery instead of stapled particleboard; full-extension drawer guides rather than an integrated rail; and doors with solid wood frames surrounding a solid wood or plywood panel, instead of veneered particleboard or a medium density fiberboard (MDF) panel.

Yeah I had same problems ordering kraft maid from Lowe’s. Either go fancy with a real kitchen place or go to ikea. Better cabinets and less money than kraft maid and you take it home with you same day. With Lowe’s you could be looking at six months of hell to get the order right.

Hey I have no experience with Latitude kitchen cabinets, but i used Ikea it is perfect material for kitchen cabinets. If it’s possible, then i suggest you replace your order.

Every order of anything we have ever bought at Lowes the delivery ends up a mess; Kitchen Cabinets… too many! wrong sizes… Windows…missing some with no explanation. etc Appliances, missing bits….. and their customer service is the worst.
