Agent Recommendation?

Starting to get serious about buying my first apartment this summer.  Have a modest ($300-350K) budget for a 1-bedroom and mostly considering Clinton Hill, Ditmas Park, and Prospect/Crown Heights.  Looking for, ideally, an outdated apartment in an otherwise well-maintainted, well-run building.  Can anyone recommend an agent for any/all of those neigbhorhoods?  Thanks.

Have you looked at Kingview Coops on Ashland Place? I considered buying there before going the brownstone route. Most of the units need a little work but the price reflects that and the location is good- near Ft Greene park, and downtown Bk. Check streeteasy for lisitings, there is usually a few units up for sale.

I used Judd Harris at Corcoran to sell my apartment in the Clinton Hill Coops.   He was very good about bringing in interested people and communicating progress with me —- although I used him on the selling end, he knows the neighborhoods you mention well and I think he’d be a good buyer’s agent as well:  Judd.Harris@corcoran.com   I heartily second bkhomeowner’s recommendation of Lynn Sculley as attorney.   She has represented us several times over the past 10 or so years and was excellent, always helpful and always looking out for us.   And timber’s comment about Willouby Walk and the Clinton Hill Coops is right on.   You should be able to find a nice spacious apartment for your budget in either one of those….

Two nice and reasonable complexes in Clinton Hill are 1\. The Willoughby Walk Co-ops and 2\. The Clinton Hill Co-ops.  I believe they both have management offices on site.

I thought Chris Belafonte was good. He helped me with my PLG house and he’s with Corcoran which is a good real estate agency. Also Dont forget to also check out listings on streeteasy on your own (more specific to nyc than trulia). The other thing you might want to start thinking about is a good lawyer for the closing. I worked with Lynn Sculley. She’s in Brooklyn– mostly focuses here. Really knows the issues. Was a great resource through the whole buying process– from looking to signing.
