I'm getting my parlour doors woodgrained.

From a recommendation I found here on brownstoner, I’ve hired Inez to woodgrain my parlour doors. She has shown me samples and started yesterday. I’ll post pics about the progress over the next few days (with a lull for the Thanksgiving holidays). They will be done in a straight grain. It would have been nice to have wider raised panels in the dooes so a more elaborate “crotch” look could hve been added but the 5 panels are too narrow. Here’s the before pic (unfortunately didn’t take one of just the doors so had to dig this one up)…

Oh, and the reason for the woodgraining as opposed to stripping & refinishing is that it’s poplar wood and that will never really look great plus the fact that there have been numerous repairs to the doors in the form of filling holes and chips with putty.
