National Safety and Risk (NATSR) Home inspection

I just received an unsolicited email and missed call from NATSR detailing that my insurance carrier has asked them to complete an inspection on our home.

Has anyone heard of this company or been subject to one of their inspections?

Is this legit? also can we choose to accept / decline said inspection?

It won’t hurt to contact your insurance company to make sure this is legitimate.

hey, so yes, sometimes insurance companies as for homeowners to get inspections but usually that letter comes from the insurance company (i got one on my roof and i have customers get them). You are obviously going to look at my website and see all of the services i provide. i have to run to a job upstate today but when i return i will look that company up and try to see what is up. or if you wish to scan and email me the letter, i will try to make sense of it.

when people get these letters, they sometimes call me and ask me to come in and take a look first. in one case, that person wrote me a review which i posted on my testimonials page (i found a lot wrong that the insurance co would not want to know about). you can find other comments about me on this forum.

in so far as how i dealt with the letter from my insurance company regarding my roof, the first thing i did was look at the roof from google because that is what my insurance company had done. i realized it looked bad because there were two different shades of roofing paint. i could have documented the issue for them, but i used it as an excuse to shop the insurance and did and went with State Farm for about a grand less a year.
