fire extinguisher tags for 2 fam

My insurance co sent an inspector to my 2 family house in Flatbush and said we need to get our fire extinguishers inspected and tagged once a year. Has anyone else heard of this? Have had the house 11 years and never encountered this. They didn’t indicate how many fire extinguishers we need, what size, and where they go. Searching the forum seems to indicate people dealt with this for multifamily buildings and elevators and boiler rooms, not little extinguishers beneath the kitchen sink in a 2 fam.
They also said we need stair treads for the staircase to the tenants apt. No big deal. But they want them installed by a licensed and insured contractor. I never heard of a contractor installing stair treads – i thought it was a set of adhesive backed plastic things that you could put on yourself.
Are these commonplace requests or unusual?

I am renewing my home insurance and they recently did an inspection and that resulted in the same demand. I have the fire extinguishers – near the boiler and the kitchen – but they don’t have tags. I’ve never heard of a two-family house requiring an annual service/inspection before. Does anyone use a fire extinguisher service and what does that cost?
