Recently closed on two family frame house in s. slope with 203K loan; filed job with DOB; contractors starting gut renovation as soon as we get permits.  The fun begins.

Question: do we need builder’s risk insurance? We have regular homeowners insurance (needed it to close), but my understanding is that it become invalid if we don’t move in within 30 days (we won’t) or if we are doing major construction (we are).  Our contractor has liability insurance.

Recommendations on where to get builder’s risk appreciated.
