Cellulose Insulation Questions

For those of you out there that have had cellulose insulation blown into the crawlspace under the roof and above the top floor ceiling, has the insulation made a difference to the warmth of your house – especially on the back wall of the house and ground floor above the cellar. If it has made a difference, what company did you use for installation? Thank you in advance, for your responses.

Federal Conservation did mine too. It was immediately noticeable on the top floor as i did it in winter. Back wall and ground floor would be a different matter but this will keep heat from leaving the house. My tenants on garden level above basement never complained about it being cold but i had gas forced air and they were getting the warmest air first! Windows are typically the biggest issue. Check for air infiltration around casings first…remove them and spray some minimally expanding foam in the crevices and then put casings back. Door bottoms are a problem in older houses too

I had it done, I used Federal conservation, and yes it made a difference. I can’t stress enough that you really need to find all the areas that air could be getting in, and caulk or block it. My top floor rear was also cool, turns out there were tiny gaps under the base board and after I caulked it, all was well. I also stopped closing the door to that room during the day, and i suppose the air circulates better because the difference between front and back is negligible.
