Home inspector recommendation

If anyone is looking for a building inspector to go through their (prospective) house before getting into contract, I just wanted to recommend Bob Silverman (http://www.longisland-homeinspection.com/). My wife and I have used him, and he was fantastic. He inspected one house with us a couple of months ago (1890s, 4 story, 2 family brownstone), spent hours with us going through, looking into everything, explaining all of the implications of what he saw, completely tireless in answering our questions (it was our first time doing an inspection). He gave us a whole new understanding of the house – both its strengths and its weaknesses. Unfortunately, that deal fell through (as they do). And when we found a new house, he was again fantastic. Not that we’ve managed to have the inspection yet. As most of you would know – scheduling an inspection is sometimes straightforward, but sometimes it’s not. And through a series of last-minute reschedulings and cancellations, Bob has been a model of patience and understanding. In prepping for the inspections, taking us through the house, answering questions both during and after, he has been completely focused on ensuring that we have the information we need to make our final decision. He understands what a stressful experience buying a house can be for people, and goes out of his way to reduce that stress wherever possible. If people want any more details, feel free to get in touch Regards AussieBen
