electrical inspection on unpermitted job

we are doing a small renovation which we have NOT filed, even though it probably should have been (long story here). all good so far, but we need to get the electrical work done, and the licensed electrician we want to use needs to file the job and have it inspected. question: how risky is it for us to have the electrical work inspected on an unpermitted job? i’ve heard that the electric inspectors really only focus on the electrical work, but is there a possibility that the electric inspection could lead to other questions? thanks!
