How is FIOS Installed in a Brownstone-type Building?

How is FIOS installed in a 2- or 3-family building?  My current setup for Directv has all the cables going to boiler room in the basement and then each room/unit gets its own cable to a terminal box.  I have a 3-story building and would prefer that any wiring remain indoors as much as possible, that no additional holes are bored through the wall, and no unsightly boxes are attached to the exterior walls.  The reference materials that I see from Verizon only talks about apartment buildings. Thx!

Exterior fiber optic cable goes into the cellar or basement. Fios box goes on wall in basement. existing cables are connected to it then go from it to the rest of the rooms. No walls broken because same cables are used. Most of my neighbors like the box in the cellar or basement.
