Whole House Water Filter recommedation

We are planning on installing a whole house water filter. Would anyone who has installed a whole house water filter be willing to share their experience with specific brands? We’re thinking about an Aquasana Rhino based on our internet research, but aren’t sure that’s the way to go. We’d be grateful for any advice or recommendations – for both the filter and a plumber who has experience installing. Thank you!

i was investigating these things a few weeks ago and not all of them are rated to catch lead. so if that is what you are after, read. it seemed to me the ones rated for lead were a bit pricier.

I have a simple GE cartridge that is under $80 from big box stores. I’ve used it for 35 years. You have to change the filter every few months depending on usage but I’ve found it to be effective & am certain that my 34-year-old washing machine & ice maker owe their longevity to it.
