Where to pull the sidewalk permit?
My sidewalk has violation and I was told by my contractor that I can pull the permit for 70$ myself and then he can start the work for me.
Can I do this online? I found the link: https://www1.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/infrastructure/privatehome.shtml
But it is not entirely helpful, looks like I have to visit the DOT office.
I appreciate your help!

Trust the advice. Don’t pull it yourself. Get someone who will pull it, do the work and have the city back to inspect so they can close the violation and provide you written proof you took care of it. It may cost a bit more but worth it in wasted time and frustration.

We let city do ours just to save hassles – as opposed to me and an experienced family member doing it. Go with the contractor.

Use a contractor that pulls their own permits & gets them signed off, violation cleared and closed out at the end of the job. Or you will end up with paying your money to get the job done, but the violation is still there & the permit not closed out!
