Where to buy Vintage screws in NYC?
Hi there,
I need to find a 1″ flat head #8 antique brass screw by Saturday, if possible. Anyone know if there is a store in NYC that would have that? I can order something like that from Van Dyke’s Restorers, or on Ebay, but looks like that wouldn’t arrive until a week or so.
Thx

Does Big Reuse have boxes of screws?

You might want to try Nuthouse, on E 29th, off 3rd Ave. Maybe call first, I think they recently renovated, so may not have the bins of old hardware any more.

I found a single 1″ #8 brass slotted flat head wood screw. If that is what you still need, you can contact me at triple r (rrr), single v, triple j at gmail dot com and we can arrange a time for you to pick it up.

I think nyc sport is correct. These screws, we take them out of doors and throw them out. There are probably some here but would i find them?

You might also try one of the Olde Good Thing locations in NYC. There are often bins full of loose ends, so it is a crap shoot and will be overpriced if you are successful.

They do not come in antique brass. They are brass. They will age.
I would call some of the older hardware stores and see if the have old stock. Leopoldi might.
Ahh, ok, continental hardware on metropolitan ave has boxes and boxes of old brass screws in the basement along the wall on the right as you go down the stairs.
