Where do you post to seek tenants?

Hi all– Moving back to Brooklyn in August after a year away. Had been renting a floor of a brownstone in Carroll Gardens for three years prior. I found that gem of a living arrangement on Craigslist, but it seems like there are fewer of those rental opportunities available now. Where do you post to seek tenants for rentals in your homes? Would much prefer to rent from responsible owners who care about the building! Thanks.

To my mind, you can list your property with the help of online rental services. They often practice no fees for landlords, so you can just add your property info and other important data. Try to choose those services, that have the most comfortable, modern and optimized listings, so tenants will better choose them for apartment search. Recently rented out By Owner on Streeteasy. I posted on CL as well but got almost no bites from it (except from random brokers explaining to me i needed an agent). CL just seems to be overrun with Spam / duplicated listings, so it seems like it’s impossible to find the legits one in the middle of all the noise.

Try the local yahoo listserves for the neighborhoods you’re interested in. You can see if there are any active posts by landlords looking for tenants, or you can post for what living arrangement you are seeking and see if you get any replies.
