What's this architectural style?
[Photo](//muut.com/u/brownstoner/s1/:brownstoner:9ZmE:aurmknaimgur.jpg.jpg)
I found this house in between two Greek Revival row houses — is anybody familiar with the architectural style? The stylized, geometric ornamentation reminds me of Neo-Grec, except it’s not incised; and it has that sort of stepped gable on top.

Why is everyone so opposed to 1920s-30s brick styles? Do you think these are ugly too? https://www.google.com/maps/@40.6582266,-73.9758626,3a,75y,217.72h,107.98t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s6QfV6zrsDYDGUDW0HlmR1w!2e0!7i16384!8i8192

Is this really an architectural style or just another ahem, person, making it look oh so “fancy” ? Let a bricklayer use their design skills ito go to town on your facade today and i’m not certain it would come out much better. This was a borough of tradespeople (among others) and plenty of people renovate these days with their contractors designing – you know – we’ll make it “real nice”

That’s not an “architectural style”.
Is this in an italian, or formerly italian neighborhood?

I agree that it looks like a modernization. The cornice-less, decoratively shaped parapet in the 1920s style can fall loosely under “tapestry brick”. Not much written about it even though it’s very common in Brooklyn and Queens. See here. https://academiccommons.columbia.edu/catalog/ac:188675

It looks very Art Deco to me, likely a ’20s “modernization” of a house that looked like those on either side.
